Abstract

This article aims to examine forms and practices of mediating cultural memory, in the context of its public uses, that define the (post)colonial from the perspective of literature, which constitutes itself as an intermediate space between memory and history, assuming the responsibility of remembering and fulfilling three tasks generally attributed to the archive: the management of public memories, the retrieval of private memories and the preservation, selection, organization and transmission of documents for social, political and cultural purposes.
